Important Notes & Disclaimers:

  • The stainless breather or vacuum relief will not fit on the front ORB port—it will not clear the hood.
  • This valve cover may not be compatible with engine covers depending on your setup. It is designed to be run without the stock engine cover.
  • Catch can brackets are only compatible with 135i/335i style strut bars—not compatible with E60, E9X M3, Z4, etc.
  • Hand-tighten the valve cover, allow the engine to warm up, then re-tighten by hand. Do NOT overtighten—this can crack the cover.
  • All cast valve covers may contain minor porosity due to the casting process. For minor weeping, we recommend applying Permatex spray sealant on the inside of the cover.
  • Switching to an aluminum valve cover removes the factory PCV system. If you do not install an external PCV setup, your N54 may smoke or bypass oil.
    • We highly recommend running an external low-side PCV for vacuum at idle (helps with turbo oil drainage).
    • We also suggest blocking the head ports when running 25+ PSI to prevent boost from entering the crankcase and overloading the gasket.
  • Catch cans do NOT fit with the factory cowl in place. These are designed for vehicles running cowl delete + cowl filters (e.g., BMS).
  • The stainless breather will NOT fit on the left catch can when using the FAB Factory manifold.
  • If removing the stock PCV valve, we offer a PCV delete fitting that blocks off internal head passages.
  • The head port block-off kit is available in the dropdown options.
