One of the most common emails we get here at VTT is regarding VC set up with catch cans, and which fittings to pick, how to set it up, etc. While every set up can be a little different, we can, for the most part, offer a kit that is tailored to your set up, and get you everything you need with as little confusion as possible.
All we need from you is some basic info.
Valve cover Choice: Billet or Cast
Color: For cast red or black wrinkle, for Billet Black Clear, Red Blue or Custom
Fittings style: Basic style steel fittings (cost-effective, look good), VTT Low Profile banjo fittings (very clean look, more expensive)
High side set up: VTA open or VTA Sealed (if sealed an extra check valve and vacuum relief are required)

PLEASE NOTE: THE STAINLESS BREATHER OR VACUUM RELIEF WILL NOT FIT ON THE FRONT ORB AS IT WILL NOT CLEAR THE HOOD.
Please note: This cover may or may not fit with your engine cover depending on how you have it set up, and is designed to be run without an engine cover. This fits the BMW N54 engine ONLY.
ALSO NOTE: Tightening specs on these are as follows:
HAND TIGHT, LET WARM UP, RETIGHTEN TO HAND TIGHT. ANY MORE AND YOU CAN CRACK THE VALVE COVER AS IT IS SITTING ON THE GASKET
All cast valve covers contain porosity, which is inherent to the casting process. Assuming the weep is minor and there is no visible crack or defect in the VC itself, VTT recommends the use of Permatex spray sealant on the inside of the VC to minimize the likelihood of weeping.
WHEN GOING TO AN ALUMINUM VC YOU ARE REMOVING THE FACTORY PCV SYSTEM, AD ITS FUNCTION. IF YOU DO NOT REPLACE WITH AN EXTERNAL PCV SET UP THERE IS A VERY GOOD CHANCE YOUR N54 WILL SMOKE. WE HIGHLY RECOMMEND GOING EXTERNAL AT A MINIMUM ON THE LOW SIDE TO PROVIDE VACUUM TO THE CRANKCASE AT IDLE TO HELP WITH TURBO DRAINING, ETC. WE ALSO SUGGEST BLOCKING THE HEAD PORTS WHEN GOING TO AN ALUMINUM COVER, THIS STOPS THE GASKET FROM HAVING TO DO ALL THE WORK OF KEEPING BOOST OUT OF THE CRANKCASE. THESE VC’S ARE DESIGNED TO WORK WITH OUR MODULAR CATCH CAN KITS, AND HEAD PORT BLOCK OFF KITS. IF YOU ARE NOT SURE WHAT TO ORDER EMAIL US, WE WOULD BE HAPPY TO HELP
PLEASE NOTE: THESE CATCH CANS DO NOT FIT WITH THE STANDARD COWL IN PLACE WITHOUT MODIFYING THE COWL. THESE ARE FOR VEHICLES THAT RUN WITH THE COWL REMOVED, AND COWL FILTERS SUCH AS BMS.
ALSO NOTE: THE STAINLESS BREATHER WILL NOT FIT ON THE LEFT CAN WHEN USING THE FAB FACTORY MANIFOLD. IF YOU PLAN ON REMOVING THE STOCK PCV VALVE TO RUN OUR EXTERNAL KIT OUR PCV DELETE FITTING WILL BLOCK THE PASSAGE FROM THE HEAD PORTS. WE SUGGEST YOU BLOCK YOUR HEAD PORTS IF YOU PLAN TO RUN 25+PSI OF BOOST, KIT IS AVAILABLE IN THE DROP DOWNS
