VTT S58 / B58TU Crankcase Vacuum Pump Kit

If you’re building a serious S58, or B58TU, crankcase pressure is one of the biggest hidden enemies of engine performance.

Excess crankcase pressure reduces ring seal, increases blow-by, contaminates engine oil, and costs horsepower. The goal of any properly designed vacuum pump system is to maintain consistent crankcase (pan) vacuum throughout the RPM range, allowing the engine to operate more efficiently under high boost and extreme engine speeds.

Maintaining crankcase vacuum provides several key advantages:

For maximum performance, engine builders can also utilize low-tension piston rings designed specifically for vacuum pump applications, further improving ring seal while reducing frictional losses.

Catch Can Requirement

A properly sized catch can is REQUIRED when running a vacuum pump.

The catch can must have sufficient internal volume and venting capacity to support the airflow created by the vacuum pump. An undersized catch can will restrict airflow and reduce the effectiveness of the system.

For this reason, we strongly recommend pairing this kit with the VTT High Flow -16 Catch Can, designed specifically for high-flow crankcase evacuation systems. We DO NOT RECOMMEND running a catch can that has LESS than a -12 port; this speeds up the gases, increases oil pickup, and -10 is simply not enough venting for high-powered X58 builds

Plumbing Information

The GZ Sportsman 104 utilizes ½” NPT ports and is designed around -12AN plumbing.

• We recommend -12AN hose and fittings for most applications.
• The system can also be adapted to -16AN, and we have successfully tested both configurations.
• Because plumbing varies significantly between vehicles, hoses and fittings are sold separately.

THIS KIT REQUIRES REMOVAL OF THE FACTORY AIR CONDITIONING SYSTEM.

The vacuum pump occupies the factory A/C compressor location.

If you do NOT want to delete your air conditioning, DO NOT PURCHASE THIS KIT.

This kit is intended for dedicated competition and race vehicles where maximum engine performance takes priority over retaining the factory A/C system.
